HOW IT WORKS
WigglyPaint is intentionally small. Pick a tool, draw, make one or two canvas adjustments, and save the result.
Select line art or a marker, choose a color, then draw with mouse, touch, or stylus.
Open ALTER to crop, restore canvas space, or shift the artwork. Apply when it looks right.
The animation runs while you work. Use Oops once if the last mark or change needs to go.
Use the save control inside the app and allow the browser download when prompted.
THE TOOL
WigglyPaint is a free animated drawing program made by John Earnest, also known as Internet Janitor. It was built with Decker and first released in December 2023. Every drawing tool produces a live “line boil” effect, so a still doodle immediately feels hand-animated.
The interface uses deliberate constraints: a few strong tools, five colors at a time, one level of undo, and direct GIF export. Marker strokes sit beneath line art automatically, giving you a useful two-layer workflow without a conventional layers panel.

LINE BOIL
A stroke is not redrawn from scratch on every screen refresh. WigglyPaint maintains three image buffers and edits all three together, applying small tool-specific differences such as position offsets, brush choices, or size changes.
The program cycles those fixed variations at about 12 frames per second. Three frames keep the motion lively without the harsh back-and-forth of a two-frame loop. The result resembles the subtle movement found in hand-drawn animation.

DRAWING TIPS
Sketch the silhouette first, then add marker color. Markers draw underneath the dark line work automatically.
The animated texture is easiest to read when the drawing stays loose and shapes remain simple.
Leave breathing room while drawing, then use ALTER to set the final framing before export.
Small details can disappear in chat previews. Check the exported GIF at its actual display size.

Yes. WigglyPaint is free software created by John Earnest. This page does not require an Image Toolkit account and does not put drawing tools behind a paid plan.
No. This is an independent, clearly labeled mirror of the v1.6 standalone build. The drawing program is functionally unchanged; an MIT notice was added to the file. The official project page is hosted by Internet Janitor on itch.io.
The standalone drawing program runs inside your browser. Image Toolkit does not receive your strokes or finished artwork. Exporting creates a download on your device.
Finish your drawing, adjust the canvas with ALTER if needed, and use the save control inside WigglyPaint to export a looping GIF. Your browser may ask you to allow the download.
WigglyPaint supports both mouse and touchscreen input. A tablet or a larger phone in landscape orientation gives the drawing canvas more room.
